No Charge If Not Approved

In effect since September 2, 2026. These terms form an agreement between you and New York ESA Letter. Booking a consultation or using this site means you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the service.

1. The service

We run a website and a scheduling service that connects New York residents with independently licensed New York clinicians for telehealth evaluations concerning emotional support animals and psychiatric service dogs. The clinical decision belongs to the clinician. We do not direct it, influence it or overturn it.

2. What falls outside the service

  • Legal advice. We are not a law firm.
  • Emergency or crisis care. Call or text 988, or 911 if someone is in danger.
  • Ongoing therapy, psychiatric treatment or medication management.
  • Registrations, certifications, ID cards and vests, none of which carry legal effect.
  • Any guarantee of approval, or of any outcome with a landlord, managing agent, co-op board, airline, employer or university.

3. Who may use it

You must be 18 or over and a New York resident to book for yourself. A parent or legal guardian may arrange and attend a consultation on behalf of a minor. You agree that what you tell us is truthful and complete; a letter obtained through false information is void.

4. Telehealth consent

Booking constitutes consent to be seen by video or telephone. You accept that telehealth has limits, that a clinician may conclude an in-person assessment is necessary, and that connections sometimes fail. You may withdraw this consent at any time.

5. Money

Prices are published on our pricing page. Your card is authorised at booking and captured only on approval. Fees are one-time; there is no subscription and no auto-renewal. The refund policy is incorporated into these terms.

6. Clinical independence

Clinicians reach independent decisions and are not compensated differently according to outcome. A clinician may decline for any clinically sound reason. A decline is a correct result, not a service failure, and is not a basis for dispute.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to misstate your identity or condition, alter or resell a letter we issue, present an emotional support animal as a service animal in a place of public accommodation, scrape or republish this site commercially, interfere with its operation, or use the service unlawfully. Breach may end your access.

8. Our intellectual property

The text, design, logo and structure of this site belong to New York ESA Letter and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Your letter is yours to use for its intended purpose. Everything else requires written permission.

9. Third parties

Scheduling, video consultation, live chat and payment are provided by third parties operating under their own terms and privacy policies. We choose vendors carefully and hold those handling health information to business associate agreements, but we are not answerable for their independent acts or omissions.

10. No warranties

The site and service are provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent New York law permits, we disclaim implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.

11. Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability arising from the service is capped at the amount you paid us for the service in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages, including a landlord's or board's refusal of an accommodation request. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify New York ESA Letter against claims arising from your misuse of the service, your breach of these terms, or your misrepresentation of an animal's status to a third party.

13. Governing law and venue

New York law governs these terms, without regard to conflict of law principles. Please raise problems with us first; most are settled by email within a day or two. Where they cannot be, the state and federal courts sitting in New York County, New York have exclusive jurisdiction.

14. Severability and waiver

If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder continues in force. A failure to enforce a provision on one occasion is not a waiver of it.

15. Changes

We may revise these terms. The effective date above reflects the current version, and material changes are announced on this page. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.

16. Reaching us
