The next hour, roughly

  1. Confirmation

Lands in your inbox straight away with your time and the link you will use to join.

  2. Screening

About five minutes of questions on your symptoms, your housing and your animal, completed before you meet anyone.

  3. Consultation

Fifteen to twenty minutes with a licensed New York clinician, by video or phone, who reaches an independent decision.

  4. Your letter

Approved, and the signed PDF is emailed inside 15 minutes. Declined, and the hold on your card is released.

Five minutes of prep that pays off

  • Get your address exactly right, including the apartment line. New York managing agents and boards reject letters over a wrong unit designation more often than over anything substantive, and getting it right now saves a re-issue.
  • Know who decides. A landlord, a managing agent and a co-op board are three different audiences. Tell your clinician which one you are facing.
  • Have your animal's details ready: name, species, breed. For a psychiatric service dog, be ready to describe the specific tasks it performs.
  • Think about daily life, not labels. What your clinician needs to understand is how your symptoms affect sleep, work, concentration and leaving the apartment.
  • Find a quiet spot with a decent connection. Video is better than phone, but phone works.
  • Bring the honest version. A clinician with an accurate picture writes a letter that survives a board meeting.

This is a scheduled, non-emergency service. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 for the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or 911 if someone is in immediate danger.

Booking questions

Do I need to download anything?

No. The consultation opens in your browser. A phone, tablet or computer with a microphone is enough.

When exactly does the money leave my account?

Booking places a hold. The charge is captured only after a clinician approves your letter. A decline releases the hold.

What if I miss it?

Rebook using the link in your confirmation, or email support. There is no fee for rescheduling.

Is the consultation private?

Yes. It runs over an encrypted connection on a platform bound by a business associate agreement. Our HIPAA compliance page walks through exactly who can see what.

Can I book on someone else's behalf?

The person who needs the letter must attend. If they are a minor, or you hold legal authority to act for them, say so when booking so it is set up correctly.
